The WYLD from JYG Pro Fishing is a standout choice for anglers fishing in low-to-zero current conditions.

Named for its wildly erratic performance during freefall, the WYLD is designed to attract fish with its unpredictable movement and vibrant glow.

The WYLD is an extreme shape we have never done before, it is designed with 3 faces, creating a tight wobble when pitched.

  • Erratic Action and Shape: The WYLD Jig's unique 3-faced shape ensures an unpredictable, attention-grabbing movement during freefall, making it highly effective in calm waters.

  • Low-to-Zero Current Compatibility: Perfectly suited for shallow waters, Lakes and reef environments where current is minimal.
  • Glow Options: Available in vibrant green glow and blue glow (White Crackle variant), enhancing visibility and attractiveness in various water conditions.

  • Target Species: Ideal for targeting Tuna, Wahoo, Grouper, Snapper, Tilefish, Stripers, Lake Trout, Salmon, and Kingfish.

  • Top Choice in Freshwater Applications: Widely used by freshwater fisherman in the Great Lakes and other deep freshwater for striped bass, trophy lake trout, land locked salmon, and pike.

  • Wire-through construction: Built tough with our TRU-WIRE construction to increase strength and durability. This design greatly increases catch rates and ensures a solid connection to the fish throughout the fight.

Weight Range: 20g, 60g, 120g, 220g, 320g.

Current Compatibility: Low-to-zero current.

The WYLD Jig is perfect for anglers looking for an edge in low-current environments. Its erratic action and vibrant glow are designed to entice even the most cautious fish.

Whether you're vertical jigging salty reefs or fishing the Great Lakes, the WYLD Jig offers the versatility and reliability you need.

Using the general rule of 1 gram of jig weight per every 1ft of depth, we can decide which size jig to use. For instance, when fishing in 150 feet, a jig weight between 130g and 200g would be acceptable.

Take note of the current speed and scale up or down in size as needed to reach the bottom!

It gets bit..

Offshore, this is an “Air Jordan” of sorts with ridiculous hang time. #1 choice in low current situations. If you can keep it vertical, get the women and children in on the jigging game because this one is easy to work and the the fish like it so much they fight over it; red snapper have come up several times hanging off both ends. AJs will test your knot strength and the non-stop action will test yours. 200g is about right around here (middle texas coast).

So I bought a 20g wyld just to see… it’s about the size of a bay shrimp. With the feathered assist hooks, it even kind of looks like a shrimp. Is this to catch bait 🤔? Not knowing what to expect, I took it to the West Galveston Bay Area, tossed it out, and off it went like a lead bullet zipping through the air. At this point I was expecting to hang on an oyster when it hit bottom, loose it, and that would put an end to the nonsense, but a spec ate it first. Lucky cast right? After that I started toying with the retrieve - how am I supposed to make this thing dance sideways when it is designed to fall? What about the classic two twitches followed by a pause? Will the fish even eat this in 2-4 ft bay water? The hooks it came with seem tiny - do I need to swap out the assists for bigger ones? I don’t know if i can answer those questions, but I can tell you 1) it out fished live shrimp on the boat 2) it limited my box of specs and slot reds, and others started using the same 20g wyld to work on their boxes (and yes, I left the tiny hooks it came with on it - and 22-25” reds got hooked no problem) and 3) the entire boat was disappointed when the one 20g I had finally did get hung on oysters and lost. It felt like the day was over as others were still trying to give away their live shrimp to bait stealers.

I don’t have all the answers, but I can tell you: IT GETS BIT.
